Just because she is one ...

In other news... the appointment of Roy Keane as the new Ipswich Manager has caused much excitement (the dancing around the bedroom in your pants whilst you text your mates kind of excitement) and the arrival of a nasty vomiting virus nearly cancelled the party.

Poorly bunny no more

My lovely Lentil was no more when I got up this morning. That's 3 rabbits in a year; thankfully all of them in their twilight years.

This is my church, this is where I heal my hurts

I went to the football today, leaving Scarlett with Mum. Oh I love the football - a sunny day, the passion, laughing at the idiots, singing the rudest songs and (most importantly) winning.
I emptied my mind for two hours and now I am ready to start the week again.

In my postbox today was The Secret World of the Working Mother by Fiona Miller, left by a dear friend (interestingly he is also my boss).

Sometimes lists work and sometimes they are ignored

This weekend I had a 'To Do' list which read mow lawn (check), clean out rabbits (check - a job I do every week but it's always nice to cross these things off), sew up Scarlett's fisherman's jumper (check - unfortunately I seem to have made it for a 4 year old), get out all my pre-pregnancy clothes and try them on (check - and they fit. Yay!), do some serious digging at the allotment (check) and pick up the Freecycle mower that I was kindly offered (check).
Dad has leant us a strimmer for the jungle between the paths so I am feeling a little less worried about the Allotment Open Day - you never know they might even humour themselves by awarding us the Most Improved Plot award.

Here is Scarlett 'helping' me with the sorting of clothes and allotment digging.

I've just been to town with Mum and Archie. My shopping list was lost within five minutes so I freestyled. I seem to have spent quite a bit on stripey sleepsuits of varying shades but don't seem to have bought home any footwear for Scarlett to wear at the allotment (her waterproof dungarees are fantastic but don't have any feet) nor any Thank You cards.

Daffodils, chicks and chocolate

In the post today was this little crocheted Easter chicken for Scarlett, complete with a bell in its belly - Nicky, you are a genius.
My worry of the day (I need to have at least one) is the length of the grass at the allotment. I have put out a plea on Freecycle for a manual lawnmower. Dan is getting a bit fed up with this latest worry but as there is an Open Day in June I can't help but worry that we might get told off, run out of town etc etc.
Having dined on nothing but cakes yesterday I have tried to eat nicer and more nutritious offerings .... not sure a bowl of porridge, a cheese sandwich and an Indian takeaway count?

Not quite a brother but more than a friend

Life is so much better. Scarlett is happy and healthy, the weather has been beautiful and I have been getting out more. I have also contacted the lady who ran the lovely wool shop with a view to running knitting workshops and she has suggested we meet on Saturday. Yay! (Now where did I put my business head?)

[In case you are wondering why Scarlett has bare legs it is because she did a huge poo that seeped through her tights and I hadn't packed a change of clothes before we went to visit Archie...]
